Some of the seeds were free from generous members of www.gardenweb.org, that offered free seeds for a self addressed, bubble envelope with extra stamps to mail back. They don't allow you to ask for free seeds, but look through the posts for SASBE offers. You can also trade your extra seeds for seeds you want. I had saved Morning Glory, Marigold, Zinna, and Sunflower seeds last fall, so I was able to do quite a few trades. I'm so glad I saved them! It's great opening my PO Box, and finding it overflowing with bubble envelopes full of free seeds!
