If you want to cut your fresh produce bill in half just regrow it after you eat it!
Eat the produce and save the end pieces of organic Lettuce, Carrots, Celery, and the eyes from Potatoes.
Put each piece in 1/2 inch of water by a sunny window. Change the water daily.
When they start growing roots and greens, plant them in soil, clay pellets with water in the bottom of the container (hydroponics), or starter mix.
I have had the best luck with clay pellets and starter mix so far. A few planted in soil died. Experiment to see what works best for you.
Top left is organic Celery. Bottom picture is Organic Romaine Lettuce, Carrots, and Celery.
The Potatoes are growing so well they have been potted in SIP systems. Sub Irrigated Planters are great to conserve water and will grow anywhere there is sun. That will be another post:)
